Individually hand-turned on a lathe and made from a wide variety of wood each one of these wooden Tree toys has its own uniqueness and character.

The wood tones vary with every order. If you order multiple Trees we will send you a mix of different tones.

1 Shrub A young sapling of a tree which hasn't quite outgrown its rivals yet. Shrub gives excellent ground cover and adds depth to any collection.

2 Fern Found growing in abundance in dense forests this humble species has the most intricate and immaculate form.

3 Comb A firm favourite of our Trees, just be careful not to mistake this one for your honey dipper.

4 Duo Good things come in twos but you’ll be lucky to spot one of these rare sprouts on your travels.

5 Topiary The centrepiece of any topiary garden, this finely crafted Tree will add three scoops of character to your garden.

6 Ridge Fine, pencil line details have been added to this tree to create a feathered pine look and will bring a sense of class to your own Arboretum....

7 Jungle You'd have to search deep in the rainforest to find this specimen. A strong, buttressed trunk holds up this tropical Tree's dense vegetation.

8 Slice The regimented sections of Slice create a very handsome pointy pine and adds some exciting texture to your woodland.

9 Amazon Tall and mighty! A true king of the canopy. He's used all his energy growing tall but forgot to fill out!

10 drop Raindrops from heaven! Beautifully tactile objects shaped to perfection and inspired by nature's sprinkler system.

11 Alpine Alpine can normally be found atop high peaks and lining ski slopes.

12 Trim The base of this Tree's foliage has been tidily trimmed to fade away into its trunk creating a clean, minimal addition to the collection....

13 Jelly The name says it all really! Our groundskeeper was obviously feeling pretty hungry when he designed this Tree.

15 Prim is the most graceful of Trees. She never has a leaf out of place.

25 Shell It's tough overlapping structure protects it from the elements allowing it to thrive in harsh, barren landscapes....

The Arboretum is a creative design studio situated in rural Sussex - and is focused on making small wooden, abstract interpretations of tree forms called... well, Trees of course!

It all starts with an appreciation for the natural beauty of wood. If you're like us, then you may have the tendency to collect natural objects like shells, pine cones or fossils and take them home to put on display. Wood isn't always pocket-sized and refined like these items but after a little work on the lathe, you end up with this perfectly, formed, solid piece of wood that is both tactile and visually pleasing from every angle. Experimenting with small wooden off-cuts, we began making simple tree-like forms that developed into more intricate interpretations as our skills grew. Soon we had a whole Arboretum's worth of Trees.

Our Trees are fun little home ornaments, kids playthings, desk toys or just tactile wooden objects. They don't have a specific purpose and that's ok. They are a celebration of the natural beauty of timber and an outlet of creativity. Each Tree is unique and beautiful in its own way and we're sure you will enjoy having them sprout up all over your home!


The studio was set up by friends and furniture makers Josh and Oli who also established Forge Creative in 2013. The Forge Creative duo design and make high-quality furniture such as tables and cabinets as well as small homewares like salt and pepper mills and chopping boards. This same level of craft is applied to the Arboretums products, but with a slightly more playful touch.

We love The Arboretum! It's a space where we get to explore a very childlike sense of creativity. Young or old we hope you get caught up in this cheerful world allow us to inspire your imagination.
