Reversible Coatigan - Ink/Forest Check
Reversible Coatigan - Ink/Forest Check
An evolution of our reversible padded jacket, combining sashiko blanket softness with the hues of autumn. A simple rounded neckline and full-length sleeves provide coverage and nostalgic simplicity, with a neat fit close to the body. Reversibility means you don’t have to choose between bold pattern or neat minimalism; playful flashes of pattern can be spotted in the inner lining of the two deep, roomy front pockets.
Design functions like reversibility help to reduce excess, without sacrificing style or comfort - both sides are gorgeously soft and cosy, creating a blanket-like feel to keep the chill off. We love to wear it plain-side out with the cuffs turned up, for a fun, coordinated burst of colour.
Just as linen allows heat to evaporate in hot weather, it also helps your body retain heat when the outside temperature drops. Naturally grown, it insulates and regulates your temperature without stifling your body as a synthetic fabric might, allowing you to layer up whilst still feeling comfortable.
Details:
- Fully reversible, with matching buttons either side
- Mid-thigh length
- Cotton side has a jacquard weave for a quilted look and feel
- Deep, roomy pockets feature on the block colour side, and become hidden inner pockets when worn pattern-side out.
Colourway:
Inspired by the rainy blue-greens of overcast afternoons spent huddled beneath blankets, we’ve chosen our Teal Check colourway to help you bring the cosiness of the indoors with you - a tomboy-style colourway that can be paired in harmony with your own garments for versatility and function. Alongside lies a deep ink lining in our padded jacquard cotton fabric, with a sashiko stitch running through the weave for extra structure and thickness.
Our model Lily is 5’3” and a natural size small / 8-10. She’s photographed here wearing a size Small. Please refer to the body size chart below for additional guidance, or contact us for advice at info@nadinoo.co.uk
Eco Credentials
Flax is a strong plant best grown in northern Europe. It needs little to no fertilisers, and due to the local climate, little extra water. It doesn’t require many pesticides either, as it can grow in poor quality soil. The Advisory Commission Report to the European Parliament stated that flax cultivation has positive effects on eco-system diversity as it allows for an “environmental pause”. One hectare of flax can retain 3.7 tonnes of CO2. Every part of the plant is used, and what isn’t used to produce linen can be utilised to make linseed oil, paper, cattle feed, or even soap.
Linen is almost naturally organic. It’s completely biodegradable, recyclable, and due to its natural absorbency, requires less dye than cotton. Linen therefore scores high on the ecological chart.
Care Hand or machine wash on gentle setting using cold water. Do not tumble dry. Steam press on medium setting for a crisp finish, or hang dry and wear gently wrinkled for a lived-in look.
